The Fort- By: M.J.

Douglass Dennis is a normal fourteen-year old, kid that lives in the small town of Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania. His life, in his opinion, is not very good. He has very few friends, has a bunch of trouble with the 8th grade, school curriculum, and his parents are fighting, and may decide to get a divorce. "Everything will be ok," is what everybody tells him, but he does not believe that. The only thing Doug looks forward to every afternoon is meeting up with his two friends, James Jenson, and Scott Pensky at the two wooden forts, made out of tree trunks that these three built in the woods when they were ten years old. This was when everything was right, not messed up, but this all had changed.

Then on October 16, 2009, everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Doug lost his backpack, got embarrassed by a cruel, practical joke somebody pulled on him, his parents decide to get a divorce, and worst of all, the new neighbor didn't like Doug's for on the property, so he got it taken down and removed! Doug decides he has had enough. He decides to run away.

On his journey, Doug meets this girl, named Cassie. Cassie was an orphan and had made her way living in the woods of Maryland by holding down a small job to make some money for food, clothing, and water since she was twelve years old. She had run away from her foster parents because they had been so rude and demanding of her. Now these two had to try and survive together in the woods of Maryland, until they decided to go back home. What do they decide? You will find out by reading my blog novel. Enjoy!
